BING! BANG! BOOM! was indeed the loudest, noisiest, best fun of the
year party. It was the hottest, sunniest day in London this summer
and a bottle of lemonade went well down with a couple of pints while
waiting for people to gather outside the entrance of the famous Chislehurst
caves. There were a few immergencies of people ending up at the wrong
train station but nothing we couldn't cope with! A helicopter in the
shape of a Nissan Micra was whisked away to collect the poor lost
CEU alumni. The caves were amazing! They were originally built by
the druids and then used as a shelter during the 1st and 2nd World
Wars. It is a village under ground with its own hospital and church.
As soon as we were back to the House of
the Lambs we hit the exotic coctails and rakijas. The shopska salad
was gone in no time and who said that Russian salad is Russian? It
is actually French! Oh well never mind - we all know what we meant
when we ate it along with some special delicacy meats. My mouth is
still watering remembering all the food.

....and now look at all these
smiles, all these dim eyes...and decide for yourself: did we not have
a great time! Never mind we are all from different years and from
different CEU departments. The CEU atmosphere was there for granted.
We shared jokes, we talked about ex CEU lecturers and coordinators,
we talked about Prokopova and Kerepesti and all the naughty things
we have done there. A night full of memories...and longing for the
once gone CEU life!

and just in case nobody heard
us laughing outloud we made sure they saw us too but letting some
long shots of fireworks. Our firemaster Mike Lamb took great pride
in his job!

We all heard at the caves that Maja Petrushevska's
(IRES'94) husband have studied architecture with another CEU alumni
- Irena Kondratenko. Irena was due to join the party at about 6-7
p.m. after an exausting 10 hour journey from Glasgow!!! Apperantly
Irina had not seen George for 10 years and of course this was the
last place she would have expected to see an old mate from her Macedonian
University. As she arrived and was introduced to all present she was
in a total disbelief to hear George spill out in Macedonian "
Kude si bre, Irena?" and then swiftly "My wife is a CEU
alumni so this is how I am here". All the way from Skopije after
10 years these 2 old friends met at the CEU alumni event! Small wolrd
indeed....
SO
COME ALONG TO THE NEXT CEU ALUMNI MEETING. YOU NEVER KNOW WHO YOU
MIGHT BUMP INTO
